A LIFE OF LEARNING
New Thoughtmap of Learning
In school we have learned to learn for exams. This means that we learn to memorize in our mind useless information to answer questions in a test, then to forget them the moment we close the test. The sole purpose is to pass the test. This kind of learning is focused on the value of knowing. And we're talking about a different kind of learning. A life of discovery. What we don't know that we don't know about. And to learn what we don't know we don't know about we first have to admit we don't know. That would mean leaving behind 14 years of mass-hammering into knowing. And a false purpose for learning. The purpose of learning is to make use of the opportunity of being alive.
Jordan Peterson
What you don't know can start to be your friend.
The tools you can learn about from being wrong as a self-transforming tool.
Listening as a path of learning.

For the next 3 days, refuse to learn anything new. Notice the techniques that you use for trying to not learn anything.
Write down in your Beep! Book your 3 favorite techniques for blocking learning. For example, you might find that you:

Saying "I do not know" or "I know" is an energetic torpedo that blocks you from the flow of learning something new.
For the next 3 days, use the phrases "I know" or "I do not know" as often as you possibly can, even when it is a lie, even if somebody tells you something new say "I know" as a way of blocking yourself from learning anything. Everytime somebody asks you a question say "I know" or "I do not know". In your Beep! Book write anything you notice about the pain of cutting yourself off from the natural flow of being exposed to new things that you can learn about.

For the next four weeks, once a week go shopping in a different kind of grocery store and buy 5 things that you have never tried before, especially from the fruits and vegetables department or from the international section. Each new thing is a Physical Body learning of your body's expanded connection to different foods that earth offers and that human beings can eat. The point of the experiment is that when you try the new food, do not compare it to anything that you know, this is not about liking or disliking it either, try to experience it on a new learning continent.

Bring this experiment to your next Possibility Team. Go in groups of 4 and have 3 people tell you things that you don't know about and that it would be great for you to learn about. Write everything down in your Beep! Book even what your Box does not want to hear. Pick the 3 most important things and start learning about them.

In your Possibility Team, do this experiment in the big circle if you are less than 8, otherwise split in two groups.
Make a list of things you wish you had learned in school, in some ways you are making a school curriculum. You can also give some different ages: "when I was 6 years old I wanted to learn this..." Everyone speaks at the same time and there is a scribe. If you are divided in two groups, afterwards you come together and share. Right then, decide to go back to school. The Possibility Team is the school that you never had. You already chose what you wanted to learn, you have the curriculum. For the next meeting you choose the next thing you want to learn and before everybody goes, you create an experiment to start exploring that domain of learning. Next week you come, hear some report of the experiments, choose a website to read or a passage of a book and then practice what you need to practice in the Team together with feedback and coaching.

Once a week, for the next 3 months, arrange to get yourself far enough so that you cannot see a building or a telephone tower or electric power line or road and you cannot hear cars or motorcycles. Have a slow walk, or just sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Let 'nature' teach you. Some of the first things you might learn are about your Fears. Nature can teach you about your fears. Fear of getting wet, getting dirty, too hot, too cold, thirsty, animals, insects... This is the Technopneuriophobia level, this is only the beginning. After you have done this for 4 weeks, nature can start to teach you something else. For example, the relationship between a plant and an insect or a fungus. Or how amazingly intelligent plants are in terms of their shape, colour, decisions for growing where they are growing and how they are growing.

Arrange for an Emotional Healing Process to discover the moment you suppressed or deadened your natural innate curiosity as a child. During the process, ask to discover why it was a survival-level decision to block your curiosity. Dare to reconnect to your curiosity.

Please do the previous experiment before engaging this one.
For the next 3 weeks, implement your new connection to curiosity by asking out loud about 10 curious type questions a day, out loud. Say things like "I wonder", "I would like to know", I'm curious about..." Ask your question out loud even if there is no way to get an answer. Start to notice that it causes a pain. Different pains might be the fear of being seen as somebody that does not know so much, or the fear of looking naive, or of 'being a problem' of asking questions you are not supposed to ask about, or scared of being curious about ridiculous things. This experiment is about making these pains okay. In the same way that it is okay to be thirsty, tired, hungry, wanting to stretch, as these are all natural pains, this pain of unanswered questions is also a natural pain. Change your mind about that.

Create a Research Team, what you research are taboos. This is not necessarily a conspiracy theory research group, it is really asking the question that are taboo, about superstitions, disconnect between stories and reality. Forbidden questions about intimacy and evolution, transformation, etc. After each one of these forbidden questions research team meeting, write a short article and publish it online about each of the forbidden questions that you have discovered and the results of exploring in those areas.

For the next 2 days, get yourself a big magnifying glass, carry it around like Sherlock Holmes and look at everything. Look at coins, rocks, soil, skin, clothes, people's eyeballs by saying "can I look at your eyeball please?" You open up this new dimension of close-up learning. Look at a dog's skin, look at insects, butterflies, plants. It is incredible.
Write an article about what you've learned from looking at life this way.

Open a new page on your Beep! Book with the title "my enemies are my teachers" and make a list of 6-10 people that you just 'hate' - your Box and Gremlin hate. For the next week, your job is to have a call with them, meet them and talk to them. First, be Radically Honest and say "my Box hates you because ... and this is blocking me from learning something from you, something I am scared to learn. Would you please tell me what I am scared of learning from you?" Write down a list of the things you are scared of learning. One of the ways it shows up is that you hate the people that hold that learning. The way to learn about them is to ask questions and do experiments.

Amazement is a kind of vulnerability because a sophisticated person is blasé and unimpressed. A sophisticated person has to already have been there.
Part one of the experiment: for the next week notice how you block amazement. Write down in your Beep! Book the exact technologies that you use for blocking amazement. For example:
- keeping a large now
- living in your story world rather than connecting with the thing
- being superior; "I already know" superiority fantasy world of having already experienced everything and already knowing other people's experiences instead of being amazed about it.
Part two of the experiment: stop using your technology. Allow yourself to have the vulnerability of being amazed and the experiment is for the next week to tell people 3 times a day exactly what you are amazed about. Things that astonish you, surprise you, interest you, open up a new world for you. Learn how to say "woah" and be amazed because it adds certain chemicals in your blood stream that keep you young and fresh and alive. If you are not amazed five times a day you are getting old.

Bring this experiment to your next Possibility Team. In groups of 3, two people start telling you what you have not tried yet, what you do not know that you do not know about, what you did not be amazed about. Write down everthing in your Beep! Book then pick 5 of those things and do them.
Write an Article about the new worlds that opened up for you once you stopped being a 'know-it-all', a `been there done that-it-all'.

You have stories about other people, all the time, because of the color of their skin. Having stories is not bad or wrong, it just keeps you stuck and afraid of connecting with others. This experiment is about learning something from these stories.
If you are Chinese, talk to a Black person. If you are Black, talk to an indigenous person. If you are indigenous, talk to a white person. If you are white you have to talk (no, listen) to all of them. Say things like "I am afraid of talking to you because..." or "I am afraid of being seen talking to you because..." "Because I am afraid of learning things that would destroy my cultural Myopia. I am afraid to destroy my cultural myopia, would you please destroy it for me?" Each person should claim to be underprivileged.

There is a fantasy concept called having a bucket list of things you want to do before you die, and checking them off, then you become a 'been there done that' person, it is accomplished, known, finished. The point is that nothing is ever finished, nothing is ever known or complete because in each moment you become different, things become different, and you are lying to yourself to think otherwise. It is a defense strategy that makes you stupid to think otherwise. This experiment is to cut a hole in the bottom of your bucket and let everything drop out so that you do not have it in your mind that you have done anything before. This gives you a fresh start on waking up in the morning, drinking orange juice, burning yourself, cooking. Plant an avocado seed. Plant a tomato. It is a different attitude, different approach to life, different viewpoint that you cannot put everything in the bucket because nothing is ever finished. You can go back to the same place with a different person different time of year, you are different, 'it' is different.
Go through the world and find people who live as if they have half the things in their bucket list accomplished and question them: "do you know what a tourniquet is?" That is what they are doing when they say they have already been to Kathmandu, to Taj Mahal, they have a tourniquet.
Why would you want to adopt the concept of having a bucket list that should be accomplished? The point is, each experience is fresh. It cannot be killed by experiencing it.

We were taught to learn so that we could pass a test and get graded on how well we learned. The purpose of this experiment is to heal yourself from having to learn to pass a test.
For the next week, learn about 3 things that you do not need in your every day life as a way to reconnect with what you always wanted to learn that would have been considered useless. Learning something even if you are never going to use it, such as quantum physics, macrame, gold mining in video games, grafting roses, or about different kinds of bananas, how to eat insects.

Each person has their own learning style, their own fears of approaching from one of their five bodies, each person has black holes inside the rule of not learning about certain things or not learning in certain ways. For example, you might block the energetic, physical or archetypal interactions coming your way, you might have blocks. This turns out to be an advantage: the advantage of learning with one or two other people. In the same situation, they can learn things that you can not learn. They can show you to learn things in ways that you would never figure out because you are blocked against it.
For the next four weeks, once a week have a learning expedition with one or two other people and set out on an adventure day with at one point one person in charge and after a half-hour the next person in charge. The person in charge has the job to direct the questioning, the inquiry, for the other two so that maximum learning can happen. For example, one person sees an art museum and drags the other two people into it and shows them what is most learn-worthy in the art museum and why, even if they think they have been in the museum already, show them what they have not really seen. Learn how other people learn. Share learning styles: what is important to learn about and how to learn about it. Next person goes to a foreign food grocery store, or a car part store, or sits down and learn to pet dogs and cats, whistle to parrots - have a conversation, trying on upper-class clothing or trying things on without buying anything.
Take photographs of the different kinds of learning and post the photographs with the stories.
